Forum Rules - Please Read!

Hello everyone, and thank you for taking the time to check our rules. We are very open minded here and we love a laugh, giggle and joke as much as anyone. Unfortunately, there are others out there that do seem to have a problem finding that little part of the body called "The Funnybone" (perhaps maybe they've knocked it a few too many times while performing some rapidly-paced limb movement... like kite-flying...).

Because of the "PC Brigade", there are just a few little things that we have to keep an eye on, and make sure that people aren't being senselessly insulting, or knowledgelessly stupid, or intelligencelessly weird.... Umm, yeah.

The first and foremost rule we need to obey, is that no pornographic or sexual imagery is posted to the boards. We'd love it if you could, we're (mostly) men, we like boobs. But, in this grand day and age there are youngsters that look at these boards and we don't want to get into trouble for that now, do we? So make sure that nothing like that manages to get past that little "post" button.

Our second little rule is that racism has no place at Total Games Realm. The way the world works at the moment is that most places are multi-cultural, as are most activities and hobbies, and we will be no different. Our fellow gamers and community members may be from all over the world, so take this into consideration before posting jokes that might have an offensive tinge.

Little guideline number three: No pointless spam. Our boards are set up in such a way that they are available to all of our members, and viewable by guests. This helps people find information while searching the net, and makes it easier for people to decide if they want to join up or not if they ever find us through a random google search. Spamming the boards with mindless jibber-jabber will make it harder for people to find the information they want, and annoys the crap out of some people. We're all up for banter, small-talk, pretty much anything that anyone wants to talk about. What we don't want to see is adverts for handbags, posts about viagra (hey, we're not *all* that old yet...), adverts to porn sites, or just posts with links that have nothing to do with why our community is here. Also included, that we really don't want advertised here on our boards, are Proxy and VPN sites. If you are seen as a spammer who signs up just for posting links and spam, your account will be banned. So you shouldn't even try!

We even have a fourth rule - Be nice to your fellow posters and gamers. The community is why we are here, to natter amongst each other like excited budgies, and to arrange get-togethers and meet-ups for us all to enjoy. Being nice to one another makes sure that the whole thing remains on a level that everyone will want to be a part of, and therefore make it even bigger and better. Please don't go around slamming other people's posts for no reason, insulting people's decisions or taste, unconstructively telling people that their thoughts are wrong, or just arguing on public boards. If you have a disagreement the please deal with it in private messages, and failing that involve our moderators and/or admins. We are there to help deal with these situations, and would hate to see any of our members leave due to any kind of disagreement.

The famous five: Most of all, we want our members to have the best possible experience while using our community and features. Let us know if you need something or if you have an idea that we may have overlooked. Get involved in our boards as much as you can, the more alive the boards are the more attractive it becomes to even more new members. Use all the facilities we have - keep your eye on the calendar, add videos from your own youtube feed to our gallery, get involved in our competitions, use the chat room, arrange games and post about them, write some reviews, do a trophy/achievement guide! The more you use the better we feel that we have offered something good to our members, and that is our biggest desire, because as gamers that's exactly what we want from it too.

So there we have it, a pretty simple set of rules for the boards. Or, if you would rather sail the seven seas and access the boards from your little sattelite notebook, taking orders from Captain Barbosa, you could call them "Guidelines". Please stick to them though, they will help keep the gears stay greased up and they'll turn a whole lot more pleasantly.
